I cannot tell you the number of times I go out and wish I had something in my handbag that would fix a beauty problem I encounter. I always remember to throw in my current lippie (and forget to take it out so I end up with a whole handbag full of lip products) but I forget everything else. Recently, I invested in a luxury bag, and I decided to specially curate and give careful consideration to what I carry, and It’s probably one of the best things I’ve done to elevate my life. I could probably go on and on about the numerous handbag essentials, but I narrowed it down to my top 5 for the sake of this post. Happy reading!
Hand Cream
A good Hand Cream is an absolute must-have beauty handbag essential, and I highly suggest you invest in one that is good for your skin. Although it’s called a Hand Cream, you can basically use it everywhere on your body that needs some extra lovin’.
I recently bought the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm as it come in a gift set, but I also recommend the Grown Alchemist Hand Creams as well. They are so luxe and feel really nice on my skin. Having a hand cream in my bag as saved me so many times when I’m in a rush and get out the door without remembering to moisturise my ashy legs or the KP on my arms act up.
Multi-Purpose Blush Stick
I have said this again and again but I will say it louder with this article- NUDESTIX Blush Sticks are the ultimate IT girl beauty product!! It’s my go-to handbag essential for effortless glam and it’s major cool girl vibes. Although they are blush sticks, they can be used as multi-purpose beauty products. All you have to do is swipe it across your cheeks, eyes and lips for a flush of colour and you’ll instantly look more put together. What makes them stand out from other cream stick products on the market is that they are incredibly long-lasting. They also blend like a dream, which makes them perfect for beginners and when you’re on-the-go. Seriously, you can’t mess it up.
Can we also talk about the massive shade range? They have so many different colours in different shades to suit everyone. Matte, Dewy – you name it, they have it. My favourite shades are Naughty n Spice, Sunkissed and Cherie. They also have a best-seller set which are mini nudie sticks that you can purchase to try out multiple shades without investing in a full product.
Perfume
Another handbag essential I cannot go without is perfume. I never realised the importance of scent until very recently. Perfumes are not only a sensory element, but it also completes your whole outfit, kind of like a cherry topper. Obviously, it’s inefficient and simply inconvenient to carry around a whole perfume bottle in your handbag. What I do instead is get a refillable travel size atomiser that you can fill up with your signature fragrance.
You know when you’re going out after work and need to refresh your makeup and hair to take it from day to nighttime? Re-perfuming yourself is also a great way to refresh your look as well. It’s all about the small things that make a huge difference!
Translucent Powder
Oily girls rejoice! As a fellow member of the oily club, I will confess that everything about me is oily (ew, that sounds gross). I was born with oily skin that would make my makeup slide off by the afternoon, and hair that gets oily within 10 hours of washing it. My body has regulated this extreme oily production a fair bit as I have gotten older, but I’m still fighting this oil battle. Translucent powder as a handbag essential has saved my skin and hair so many times when I need to touch up during the day.
RCMA No Color powder is my recommendation as it comes in both powder and compact format to suit whatever your preference is. Just use a brush to apply it onto your skin or even dust it on your roots to absorb excess oil from your hair. It doubles up as a dry shampoo, making it a multi-purpose beauty handbag essential.
Hand Sanitiser
I can’t count how many times I’ve been caught out with sticky hands or touched something dirty and need to clean my hands IMMEDIATELY. And we’ve just came out of a pandemic, so there is literally no excuse not to have a travel-sized hand sanitiser in your handbag. My skin is weird- the skin on my face will literally take 1000 new products that I introduce to my skin but the skin on my hands acts up if I use a certain type of product that doesn’t agree with. It just so happens that a lot of sanitisers in shopping centres don’t agree with my hands, so I have invested in a nice little sanitiser that works for me from Aesop. If you buy a spray type hand sanitiser, you can also use it to wipe your desk, car, or any germy areas. WIN!
