MCO Beauty Lip Oil Review – Is It Worth Your Money?

Honestly, who hasn’t heard of MCO Beauty? In the ever-expanding world of beauty products, MCO Beauty has emerged as the queen of dupes, recreating viral beauty products at an affordable price point. How do they get away with it? That’s a mystery I will never be able to solve. Now, Lip Oils have been taking the beauty community by storm ever since the Dior Lip Oil went viral, so the MCO Beauty Lip Oil, in particular, has been generating quite a buzz in the beauty community. As someone who gets sucked in by Tiktok and anything viral, I decided to give MCO Beauty Lip Oil a try.

What Is the MCO Beauty Lip Oil?

The MCO Beauty Lip Oil Hydrating Treatment is a rich, ultra-nourishing lip oil that offers a high shine finish while hydrating, plumping and smoothing the lips without the sticky feel. We ALL know sticky lip glosses are THE WORST, so I’m exciting to try this non sticky oil. You can wear it alone by itself on bare lips as a lip treatment oil or over a base colour for added shine. I often use the lip oil as a hydrating base or topcoat (kind of like a lip primer) under my lipsticks to enhance their longevity and comfort. Their website says that you can use this Lip Oil as an overnight treatment, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Shade Range of the MCO Beauty Lip Oil

In addition to its hydrating properties, the MCO Beauty Lip Oil offers a subtle tint that enhances the natural colour of your lips. It is currently available in 5 colours, ranging clear to pinks and red. I bought the shade Sheer Rose, but unfortunately it shows up clear on my pigmented lips. If you have pigmented lips and you’re looking for a stronger tint of colour from your lip oil I would actually go for Sheer Red as it is the most pigmented colour in the whole shade range.

Formula of the Lip Oil

Texture and Application

One of the standout features of MCO Beauty Lip Oil is its formula. The lip oil is lightweight and non-sticky, providing a comfortable feel on the lips. Upon application, it glides smoothly, instantly hydrating and nourishing the lips. The formula is enriched with Jojoba Oil which works to soften and rejuvenate the delicate skin on your lips.

I don’t really get dry lips, so I don’t use this Lip Oil as a treatment as much as I use it for the shine it adds. Wow, it is really glossy! It feels like I have nothing on my lips when I’m wearing it, so I really like that a lot. It also doesn’t leave a weird white, gloopy residue on my lips after hours of wear (if you know, you know) so that’s a major plus as well.

Ingredients

The MCO Beauty Lip Oil contains Jojoba Seed Oil which is a great, lightweight, nourishing oil. However, it also contains fragrance so it might not be suitable for sensitive lips. Best to do a patch test if you get allergic reactions to lip products!

Paraffinum Liquidum, Polyisobutene, Polybutene, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, D&C Red No. 28 (CI 45410), D&C Red No. 6 (CI 15850), Fragrance (Parfum)

Longevity

The staying power of the MCO Beauty Lip Oil is actually pretty great. It lasts hours on my lips (when I haven’t eaten anything of course). The hydrating effects lingered for several hours, and I do think its longevity outperforms a lot of other lip oils on the market.

Packaging

The MCO Beauty Lip Oil comes in a clear, rectangle tube so you can see the colour your’re buying. My favourite thing about this packaging is the large doe foot applicator- it’s so satisfying!! Honestly, I think I use the Lip Oil more for the applicator than the actual Lip Oil.

The cons about the packaging is that I don’t think it comes with a plastic stopper inside, so if you tilt it with no lid, the Lip Oil will spill everywhere quickly. I’ve also heard from other users that their Lip Oil packaging leaks, but I haven’t experienced that for myself. I do know from my previous experience with Lip Oils that if you dropped the container, it will usually start leaking.

The Girl Math on The Value

The MCO Beauty Lip Oil retails for $14 AUD, which is so much cheaper than the Dior Lip Oil retailing at $62. For the price and quality of the Lip Oil, I would say it’s great value for money!

My Final Verdict on the MCO Beauty Lip Oil

MCO Beauty Lip Oil exceeded my expectations. I really enjoy the texture and application of the Lip Oil, and it truly does fulfil its promises. It’s hydrating, non-sticky, lightweight and offers long lasting high shine. It’s definitely worth a try- I’m giving the MCO Beauty Lip Oil a big thumbs up from me!
